Neighbors behind the fence. Discussion after the premiere of the film "Young Belarus" with the filmmakers.
After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Belarusians stood on opposing sides of the war barricade from their state, which is controlled by a criminal dictatorship.
Thousands of young Belarusians exiled to Poland by Alexander Lukashenko through violence and threats are trying to find their footing in their shattered worlds before and after the revolution of 2020. Some don't hesitate to volunteer, others try to build a new emigre's life from scratch, others still go off to fight or help heal others in Ukraine. What are their relationships like with their families and friends who stayed in Belarus? Will there be anything else to bring their generation together in a vein similar to the rupture of freedom that exploded in August 2020?
