We invite you to the Nowy Fort for weekly screenings of the best films from previous editions of WATCH DOCS. Screenings will take place every Friday at 8:30 pm from May to the end of September 2021.

The screenings in June will be devoted to LGBTQ+ issues and celebrating the Pride Month, a very important part of the year for LGBTQ+ communities around the world.

The series will begin with a film that Warsaw audiences have come to love - "For They Know Not What They Do" (dir. Daniel Karslake), the winner of the Audience Award at the 19th WATCH DOCS IFF, devoted to American religious families whose children decide to "come out of the closet."

Schedule for May and June:

May 28, 8:30 p.m. - "For They Know Not What They Do" (87' 2019 USA, dir. Daniel Karslake) - When in American religious families a child comes out of the closet.

The series will be opened by Maciej Nowicki, WATCH DOCS Festival Director, and Konrad Wirkowski, Programming Director.

June 4, 8:30 p.m. - "The Many Lives of Kojin" ( 88' 2019 France, dir. Diako Yazdani) - A Kurdish gay man comes out of the closet - what happens when you violate a taboo?

June 11, 8:30 p.m. - "A Worm in the Heart"  (84' 2020 USA, Irleland, dir. Paul Rice) -  A gay couple from San Francisco travels through Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway, collecting evidence of LGBT persecution and activist resistance. 

June 18, 8:30 p.m. - "The Gospel of Eureka" ( 73' 2018 USA, dir. Michael Palmieri, Donal Mosher) - Eureka, Arkansas - population: 2000; Passion Plays and Christian drag shows

June 26, 8:30 p.m. - "For They Know Not What They Do" (87' 2019 USA, dir. Daniel Karslake) - When in American religious families a child comes out of the closet
